Tomorrow the #markatupuntueus campaign aimed at consolidating the .EUS domain – which represents the Basque linguistic community on the Internet – begins.

“What brand do you want .EUS to be?” It is the question that the campaign asks residents. Fundación PuntuEUS invites all those who think they have an answer to take part. Participants will need to take a photo of any object marked with the brand and post it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the tag #markatupuntueus.

The campaign’s website was created for this very purpose. All the photos submitted for the campaign will be published here, and users will be able to vote for them. Every week, the photos with the most votes will win a Samsung Galaxy tablet as a gift. In addition, at the end of the campaign, Fundación PuntuEUS will have a drawing among all participants for a prize of a weekend for two at a country bed and breakfast.

The campaign’s aim is for the .EUS domain to become integrated into society and have greater presence on the network. More than 4,000 domains have already been registered and, through this campaign, we want to encourage the many others that have not yet taken the plunge: companies, establishments, institutions, musical or sporting associations, etc.

The .EUS domain is aimed at websites that have at least part of their content in Basque, or – if it lacking Basque-language content – refer to it or to Basque culture, thus providing Euskera and Basque culture with their own identity.
